Library Profile


Z. Handiman Library is the library of the Moriah Theological Seminary (MTS) which was founded in 2006 with the main aim of supporting theological education and spiritual development for students, lecturers and academic personnel. With a collection that includes 29,000 printed book titles, 13,000 e-book titles, academic journals, international e-journal databases and other reference materials, the library provides broad access to theological literature, Biblical studies, church history, and practical theology. This growing collection not only serves academic research needs, but also supports spiritual growth and ministry in school and ecclesiastical communities. Library facilities are equipped with study rooms, special collections areas, biblical galleries, as well as computer and wifi access to support effective learning and research. With competent librarians to provide quality services, the Z. Handiman Library acts as an important intellectual and spiritual center for its entire academic community.

Z. HANDIMAN LIBRARY SERVICES

  1. Onsite Reading Service The reading room service at this place is aimed at academic community users who want to read the library collections. The library provides reading tables and chairs that visitors use to read books. The reading room provided is quite spacious and sufficient to accommodate a number of visiting students, lecturers and staff.
  2. Circulation Services Circulation services are services provided by libraries for borrowing and returning book collections to be read or used and borrowed by users outside the library. Circulation services are located at the Zakaria Handiman Library. In this place the circulation collection includes the general collection (Class 000-900).
  3. Reference Services Reference services are one of the library services where users can utilize reference collections consisting of: dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks, directories, atlases, maps, journals, proceedings, reports, books, abstracts, directories, reports, manuals, maps, yearbooks and etc.
  4. Search Services This search service is intended for users who want to search for or browse information about printed collections consisting of circulation collections, reference collections and special collections in the Zakaria Handiman Library. Search. This is done through the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) which is connected online via the Local Area Network (LAN) and the internet via smart phone which can be accessed via the handiman library.org page.
  5. Information Literacy Services Information Literacy Services is a library introduction service for new students in a series of user education activities for new students. The material presented is about searching for information and library collections, both printed and electronic (digital).
  6. Cross Service Zakaria Handiman Library provides cross-service services in the form of collaboration with other library members. Collaboration members share information and utilize collections.
  7. Bible Corner Services Bible Corner is a service that aims to provide collections such as objects, writings or works related to Biblical Theology. The collection consists of Biblical manuscripts that have been collected and studied, ancient items from Israel, as well as interesting materials related to Biblical Studies, such as the History of Our Sacred Authorship, the History of the Hebrew Language and others.
