The Gospel of John: a complete analytical exposition
In his Introduction to "The Gospel of John," Dr. Gaebelein discusses the Johannine authorship and "the defeat of the critics." He then considers the purpose of the Gospel, pointing out John's own testimony at the close of the twentieth chapter. "That ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing ye might have life through (in) His Name." Thus the twofold purpose of the fourth Gospel is given by the Apostle - Christ the Son of God and the Life He gives to all who believe. This twofold purpose is constantly kept in view through Dr. Gaebelein's masterly verse-by-verse exposition.
