This well-researched and edited volume, though very brief by the standards of scholarly works does fulfill a real purpose in a scholar's library and fulfills it well. It will get you to some of the most necessary and important insights from cultural contexts, original languages, and archeological evidence without going through an extended treasure hunt through the more traditional broadly scoped scholarly sets. When the text is not as clear to me as I would wish, a dip into Keener's book will start to clear things up faster than anything else I've encountered aside from prayer and a cross-reference list.
