If you want to understand what is worship, you must read this insightful book. I have read many other books about worship and they leave it out to you "doing your thing" to God. In this book, Torrance points out, it is not possible to have “a true understanding of worship, prayer, baptism and the Lord’s Supper without a New Testament understanding of the priesthood of Christ.” I suggest that the priesthood of Christ is the key point of Torrance on his theology of worship. When writing about worship, many Christian authors have missed the reality of our sinful nature and the fact that it is impossible for humanity to offer an acceptable worship without Christ’s constant priesthood. The only thing we have to offer is the sin that makes Christ’s continual intercession necessary. But we are so proud, that only God’s intervention can open our eyes to the fact that we are sinners in need of a Substitute..
