This is a fascinating book and a delightful read casting a huge light on the motivations of different groups across the Christian Muslim divide. I think that there is an underlying anti-nationalist message which is intriguing. The modern narratives we have now about the Western - Islamic divide are laid to waste in this book. It really shows that humans are more motivated by their immediate needs rather than grand narratives or ideologies, at least before the advent of large national media apparatuses. Definitely a keeper.
