The apocalyptic resurrection of Jesus
The language and imagery accounts of the resurrection in the Gospels are difficult to take literally. Some read the resurrection appearances as "myths and legends." Others speak of the resurrection of Jesus as a "symbol." The events of Palm Sunday are dramatic, and the picture given appear to conform to the historicity of Palm Sunday. Both the language and the manner of presentation change when presented with the resurrection. A different imagery is used, which can be seen as a distinct language called "apocalyptic language."
